Pictures of camping

So for the past few months all I have been doing is posting about wanting to go camping and going camping. So I thought I would treat you all to a few pictures that we took over the weekend of us camping. As you can tell the kids were having an awesome time and hamming it up for the camera like they always do. And although I was not impressed with having my picture taken, I was happy to be out at the campsite and relaxing. Because hubby was the one taking the photos you can’t see his big grin on his face, but trust me..it was there.

There were be more camping trips this summer so there will be more pictures as well. Hopefully the next batch will have my hubby in them and then you can all see what a wonderful time he was having as well.

Summer visitors

Within a couple of weeks I am going to have a house full. My brother and his wife will be arriving from out of town as will my sister in law and her husband. Then after they go home, my cousin from California will be arriving with her family. So for the next month or so, my house is going to be filled up to the rafters. Since they are all arriving home, I really need to start doing some major housecleaning. The house isn’t in that bad of shape, but there are certain areas that have been neglected.

One such area would be the vacuuming. Out of all the jobs in the home that needs to be done I have to say that I dread vacuuming the worst. I’m not a very big person so hauling around a large vacuum cleaner is not my idea of fun. I have decided that I either need to talk Santa into loaning me his elves for a few days or I need to get an Energy Star vacuum cleaner to handle the mess. Since Santa isn’t willing to give up his little helpers, it looks to me like I’m going to need that new Dirt Devil vacuum.

Not only is this type of machine lightweight and portable, but it is also cordless so it makes the chore of vacuuming not so big of a chore as it normally is. And by purchasing an Energy Star vacuum I will also save energy which will save me money. So to get all the cleaning done that needs to be done in the next couple of weeks I can see that I’m going to need a little extra help. And since the elves are all on vacation themselves, it looks like I’m going to need to invest in the vacuum after all.

Great weekend of camping

We had such an awesome time camping this past weekend. If my husband hadn’t have had to go to work this morning we definitely would have stayed an extra day. The weather for once cooperated with us beautifully and we were able to enjoy all that the campground had to offer. The kids were able to go swimming, play at the park, have a bonfire and see some fireworks. We didn’t go to the drive-in movies like we usually do as they had no kids movies playing. I would have to say it was our best trip ever. And sleeping in the brand new trailer that we bought was just heaven. We were only able to go for one night as my husband had to work Saturday morning, but this weekend we will be going for two nights because it’s his weekend off. Cross your fingers for me guys that the weather treats us good this weekend as well.

Camping weekend is on

Since the weather man is predicting sunshine and temperatures in the range of the high 20’s this weekend, we are finally going to be able to go camping. A couple of weeks ago we bought a pop up camper trailer and haven’t been able to use it because the weather has been too crappy to go camping. But this weekend is different. Tomorrow after my husband gets home from work I will be putting away the Ladybug steam cleaners, packing up the trailer, locking up the house and heading out to the campsite. The kids are so excited that we are finally getting to go that they are already packed! Now all I have to do is get off my butt and pack up the stuff we are going to need.

I’m getting so frustrated!

As you all know, this computer that I now have is not that old. But man does it ever run slow. It has a dual processor in it and I’m pretty sure that it should be operating faster than it does. I have tried everything to get it to run faster. I have deleted a bunch of stuff and have also cleared the cache and cookies. But nothing seems to help. I’m seriously thinking about taking it somewhere to get a complete system memory upgrade. But I am wondering if this would help or if this would just be a waste of my money. I don’t know a whole lot about computers and their workings, but I do know one thing. If I can’t get this machine to work any faster I may end up doing something drastic.

I’m a little disappointed

Last week my oldest son sent me an e-mail requesting that I get the rest of his stuff together and send it to him by bus. By the sounds of this request, it doesn’t sound like he is planning on coming home for a visit any time soon. This is a major disappointment to me. We haven’t seen him since July of last year and we all miss him very much.

But I did what he asked and packed up his stereo, TV and computer. The stereo and TV are in pretty good shape, but I can’t say the same thing for his computer. When he gets his stuff, he is really going to need to invest a little money in some extra dell memory for his computer. But it’s his stuff, so I sent it. It is now up to him what he will end up doing with his stuff. I really wish he didn’t live so far away or at least comes home for a visit soon, but this e-mail makes me think that this is not going to happen.

Pretty crappy weekend

So far this summer I would have to say this has been the crappiest weekend. We didn’t get to go camping (big surprise) but that’s not why the weekend was bad. It has rained non stop all weekend so doing anything outdoors has not been an option. And because the kids were stuck inside all weekend, all they did was fight! I understand we need the rain, but for some reason in our area it only decides to rain on the weekends. But today is Sunday and the weekend is almost over so hopefully the rain will be too. Tuesday is July first and here in Canada that means we have a holiday. Hopefully the weather will be more co-operative on that day then it’s been every weekend so far this summer.

Men are big babies

Why is it when men need to go have any type of procedure done, they turn into huge babies? My husband is no exception in this matter. For the past couple of weeks my husband has been having troubles with his stomach again so his doctor has decided to re-run all the tests that he had done in February. Hopefully these tests will tell them more about what’s going on in his system than they did in February. Maybe all he need is to have a colon cleanser procedure of some sort?? But he is not looking forward to having these tests done again and all he has been doing is complaining about them since he found out he has to go. He has to go, so…I don’t understand why he’s complaining. If it were me, I would want to know what is wrong with me so they could fix it and I could get better.

I should be a plumber

When I was growing up, one of the professions in life that I wanted to have was certainly not to become a plumber. But these days I kind of wish that I had taken that plumbing course after all. For months now I have had a leaky faucet in the bathroom and all my nagging, pleading and begging to have it fixed has fallen on deaf ears. I love my husband to death, but sometimes he really does annoy me. If it’s a problem that he has no interest in, he won’t even look at it. So I have decided that I have two options. Option number 1 would be to take a plumbing course and fix the thing myself. Or, option number 2 would be to continue to nag. As nagging doesn’t cost anything and plumbing school does, I guess I’ll go with option number 2.
